The VPPStore Team would like to give a shout out to MillerCoors Grain Elevator of Golden, CO for achieving the VPP Star Site status!  This facility is a role model for the grain processing industry for its exceptional safety and health programs.  The grain elevator of Golden, CO has met and exceeded OSHA standards and was awarded the OSHA VPP flag and plaque to commemorate this milestone.

The VPPStore Team would like to congratulate the Aeronautical Systems Center (ASC) of Wright Patterson Air Force Base for being awarded its VPP Star Site certification!  This recognition exemplifies ASC as being a role model for exceptional safety and health programs for its people.  Dedication from its people and strong leadership help build on the teamwork that is necessary to accomplish this goal.

Rigorous training and inspections  from the ASC ERGO Wingman Program assisted ASC with its expertise on making the workplace more ergonomically correct.  Their expertise corrected many configurations of the layout within the workplace thus leading to less pain, stress and discomfort that was felt as reported by the personnel.

Earlier this month, Dr. David Michaels was unanimously voted for and sworn in to lead the Occupational Safety and Health Administration by the U.S. Senate.  The new head of OSHA has years of experience and research under his belt when it comes to workplace safety.  He even published a book (Doubt is Their Product: How Industry’s Assault on Science Threatens Your Health) and spent several years as Assistant Secretary for Environmental, Safety and Health at the Department of Energy.
